Cycling advocates upset over changes to bike lanes Cycling advocates are also raising concerns about the bill, saying this is the fourth time the Ford government has attempted to micromanage the placement of bike lanes under municipal control. Bill 60 would essentially act as a ban on new bike lanes across the province if they remove a lane of vehicle traffic, said Cycle Toronto executive director Michael Longfield. “It's effectively blocking municipalities from making any progress with cycling network plans,” Longfield said. “And that's not just Toronto — it's across the whole province.”

In BC’s Interior, Conservatives got a majority of votes, but over 4 in 10 chose other parties.

First-past-the-post turned that into 90% of seats for one party, erasing voices.

Proportional representation would reflect how people actually vote, not exaggerate our differences.

We are not as divided as our elections make us seem.

First-past-the-post exaggerates differences and hides common ground. It rewards domination, not cooperation.

Proportional representation would reflect how we vote and help us work together.

A faulty generalization is a logical fallacy where a conclusion is drawn about a large group or population based on a small or unrepresentative sample. It essentially involves "jumping to conclusions" without sufficient evidence. Example: anyone who does this even once is a complete idiot.

This culture of "the best at deceit wins" needs to change. But how do people learn to avoid being deceived? For one, judge behaviour, not the entire person. A person who is generally good still may lie - intentionally or not. And tune into real exchanges with people ... not easily faked ones online.

If we want to protect democracy in Canada, we need proportional representation.

Under FPTP, an extremist politician becomes the leader of a major party, their party wins 100% power with only 39% of the vote, and the extremist leads the country.
