Retired Mental Health Nurse (ex RMN) supermarket assistant. Occasional artist. I am not consistent using social media, so bear with me.
Sometimes, a painting takes on a life of its own. I don't know where this is going, and I am not keen on it tbh

The genesis of a painting. Hopefully.

She curls up in a ball on top of the smallest of spaces to sleep. Why she doesn't use the plush cat bed we bought her is a mystery. Silly Old Cat.

A detail from a painting I did many years ago, inspired by Escher's work, and personal dream symbolism.

This was a painting I decided to scrap. I have just found the image after trawling through all the saved ones I have, and frankly, I now regret ripping it up and putting it in the bin. It is odd how I view my art more critically when I am stuck in the process.

I finally found an image of the finished work. The mural gave a lot of pleasure to people, so I was told. I loved the crossover between art and nursing.

My solitaire board. There is a solution to it, but I can't remember it. And in any case, it would be boring if I could.

A sketch for a mural that I did in the ITU waiting room at Milton Keynes General Hospital in 1990. I was a student RMN, and as well, an auxiliary nurse (bank) in the hospital. I was part of a team in ITU, and with an arts background wanted to something. Somewhere, I have pics of the finished work.

A random photo. At first glance, it could be part of a bridge, but the arches in the spaces of the bridge are fenceposts, and the bridge is water. Such random things can influence my art process.

If there is a miracle, and I can transform this image into a painting within the next few days, I shall be a happy rabbit

Good as Gold. When she's asleep.

I handed my overdue library books. Nearly 30 years after I borrowed them. I offered to pay the fine (£10 x 3) but the bemused librarian waived the fee. If procrastination was a superpower, I'd be up there with Spiderman and Wonder woman.

Left over tiles from having our bathroom done a few years ago. I am convinced that the 12x12 squares could be the basis of a board game, a project I am working on.

Jack-in-the-Green. Painted tin box.

A page from one of my sketchbooks from the late 1970s, sort of toying with the idea of a tattoo with the horse shoe and black cat motifs, and the runic inscription.

Boulton Paul Defiant at Cosford today. The last remaining one, in the markings of a Polish night fighter RAF squadron.

I drew this from life, (coloured biro) a couple of years ago. I seem to remember the stones predate Stone Henge by a very long time.

I've got a shelf full, the illustrations are brilliant. They helped me to learn to read, and nowadays, I still use them as reference now and again.

Painting, from a photo, of a tree in a park in Tirana, #Albania from last autumn. Happy memories of a city break in a great country.

Scenes from the historic town of Stony Stratford, Buckinghamshire, UK last week, nice day out.
