Bishopville, SC, celebrated its 4th annual festival this past weekend, honoring the local legend, the Lizard Man. Bishopville was filled with children playing with bubbles and vendors showcasing Lizard Man-themed art and food. The event brought the legend to life for everyone. More at 🔗 below ⬇️

For the first time in 76 years, Batesburg-Leesville is state champs again.
The Panthers beat Philip Simmons 8-5 at Founders Park to win the Class 2A baseball title—their first since 1949.
After dropping Game 1, they rallied to take the next two and cap a 19-6-1 season in style.

No. 5 Alabama cruised to an 88-68 win over South Carolina, led by Mark Sears’ 22 points. Jacobi Wright led the Gamecocks with 20, but they hit just 3-of-14 from deep. Alabama made 8-of-19 from beyond the arc and shot 55% overall. “Bring your best every night,” Sears said.

Irmo’s 40-year football state title bid ended in a 34-31 loss to Northwestern in the 5A Division II title game. Matthew Fish’s 27-yard field goal sealed the victory. A.J. Brand led Irmo with 319 yards and 4 TDs, while Donovan Murph caught 2 TDs, including the game-tying score.
