We were competitive children and on the way home from my granny's each week we used to count Christmas trees out the car window. They were always these colours, as was our own.

Oh my word! Gorgeous.

I've yet to manage an aesthetically pleasing tree since we had kids. They're all teenagers now but the tree is still messy.
I acquired a set of coloured non-leds, and until they die, I'm doing retro.

Maybe it was just the glue we all loved...😁

Last couple of years in form class we've made paper chains, even 15/16 year olds love it! You definitely should. The sound they make takes me right back.

Me and my big sister agree. Also since we stopped adding home made paper lanterns.

Excellent. Facts to back up my 'because I said so' argument.

I'll not plug them in today, but by midweek I will need some cheer and on they go.

An opportunity to post one of my favourite book titles.

It used to be worth allowing yourself to be carried along as far as the stall selling warm, spiced punch with amaretto. But not even that can tempt me back now.

Never heard of them for sale!

Checked out local butchers for turkey prices. There's only 5 of us so just not a chance I'm spending that on my dinner. The stuffing is my favourite bit anyway.

I'll be getting a big chicken soon and sticking it in the freezer. Not a single person in this house could tell the difference.
November 22, 2025 at 2:12 PM
Look forward to that 😁
I don't think I was ever at Different Drum. Love the Limelight but it was mostly wherever indie stuff was playing that I gravitated to.

It was serious up there. Plus braving the stairs up and down was an adventure too far for me 😂

I shall have these with guacamole to honour it.

I rarely ventured beyond the ground floor. But I loved the night I was up in the sweaty top floor and looking at the fella beside me at the bar I realised he was my younger cousin. Hadn't seen him since we were kids so didn't realise he'd grown up to be my kind of people. 😁

Don't, same here.
Hard to describe how happy it made me walking through the door. Nowhere else like it.

Although also I'm not 27 anymore 😂

Initially highly sceptical, can report they are outstandingly good.

Aw, that'll be amazing. I remember being so pleased to find somewhere like that after Vico's shut.
