Nobody told me how SMALL the Tully Monster was!!! I was imagining this stupid thing being the size of a grouper, and that made no sense to me. I can TOTALLY believe a 6-inch version of this.
A reconstruction of the Tullimonstrum, a.k.a. the Tully Monster, by Monica Junk, juxtaposed with one of the fossils that likely informed the reconstruction. The creature had a "trunk" half the length of its body ending with a claw-mouth, eyes on stalks extending horizontally from the top of what I guess is its head, and triangular tail fins reminiscent of the end of a squid's head. Also it has holes like spiracles along its sides, and possibly stripes, but those are just icing on the extremely weird cake.
