Hulu has always had ads in their paid tier for certain shows. Literally since Day 1. I would know, I've been paying for Hulu since Day 1 of the no ads plan.

The other side of thst coin is that PS exclusives are able to maintain such high quality because they only have to worry about launching on PS hardware. The job of porting is usually delegated to another studio. So there is the downside.
