“Why can't cardinals over age 80 vote? Pope Paul VI established this rule in 1970, partly to make it easier for non-Italians to succeed him. The policy also compels cardinals to offer their retirement at age 75; the pope can keep them in service or accept their resignations.” -NYT

P.s. I learned yesterday Cardinals age 80 and over can’t vote for the next pope. Maybe one of the world’s oldest institutions learned something there….

Love US Rep Jim McGovern and State Sen Jo Comerford. US Reps Moulton and Auchincloss have promise. Sen Markey is 100% showing his age face to face and should not run for reelection.

But you could’ve got the same answer from AOC or a few younger democrats. He didn’t have to pretend Charlie Kirk was normal to get there.

Yes!!! Bernie/AOC style class based populism in the front, abundance movement building and governance in the back.

You’re missing the point. Yes, Bernie is treasure but we need a dozen or a hundred Bernies and the boomers need to make room for them to grow.

Markey is progressive but he is showing his age. This needs to be his last term. McGovern is great. Moulton and Auchincloss have potential.

Let’s not forget that Schumer’s two children are an Amazon lobbyist and a Facebook manager.
