So lemme get this straight. Congress is asking people to sign up for health insurance at the new, much higher prices because those prices MIGHT go down AFTER the first of the year IF Congress can agree on a workable plan?
Seriously?

I found a new glasses rest.
December 3, 2025 at 11:40 PM
Well, this is new. The Internet just crashed at my ofc.
I can literally do nothing rn.

I have scored some chocolate.
It never hurts to be in good with the receptionist.

Second day in a row I am without chocolate at work because I forgot to toss the Hershey's Nuggets into my work bag. Oh, woe.
I wonder if there is a vending machine around here someplace.

So I stopped at the bank to get some cash because I have to wash a comforter at the Tom Landry Laundry. The ATM gave me a single $50. Yeah, that's helpful.

I realized today that parts of Artemis's face have turned white. I think she is about 10 years old but she might be almost 11.

Breakfast of champions. Fried trout and raspberry pancakes. No, I've never had fish for breakfast before. It was pretty good tho!

So it's Thanksgiving and I see a lot of posts about horrible MAGA relatives or people who say mean shit and holiday travel and I'm like, y'all could just--not go?
You're adults. You can choose how to spend your leisure time and with whom.
Why do it if you hate it so much and you're treated so bad?

Flowers o'the week. There wasn't a batch that particularly grabbed me this time, but these are nice.

So the mom cat I've been trying to catch because I think she is pregnant again is neither a mom nor pregnant. In fact she is a dude. I got a look today at a mighty pair of balls. Which doesn't mean he doesn't need to be fixed, but the emergency has wound down a little.

Just finished "Nuclear War" by Annie Jacobsen.
Wow.

I hate the expression "If I can do it, anyone can."
Not only is it unkind, it's not true. We all have different strengths and difficulties.
I, for example, am never gonna climb Mt. Everest. It is just not in my wheelhouse.
But I make a hell of a cool beaded necklace.

You guys! 1750 meters this morning!! 🏊‍♀️🏊‍♀️🏊‍♀️

My wife took this pic of Cricket.

Did you guys know the thermonuclear weapons we have today are an estimated 4,000 times more powerful than the bomb that hit Hiroshima? And we have an estimated 5,000 of them. Back in the 1960s we had 30,000 of them and it's not entirely clear where they all went.

So when I feel bad, I don't do the things that would make me feel better because I feel bad.
It's a vicious cycle.

So about a year ago, the Dallas Symphony performed a concert version of the ENTIRE Ring Cycle. (Think singers and musicians but no sets or costumes.)
My wife took me. It was my first opera and she took me to the Iron Man Triathlon of operas.

If any opera can break your heart, it surely is Madama Butterfly, the story of an innocent young Japanese girl, who — as her nickname foreshadows — is crushed by one of opera’s most callous cads, nava...

I'm watching Ken Burns' The Revolutionary War, and I think the repression that's happening now is almost a mirror of what started happening in the mid-1750s.
