Totally agree. Samus will align with the Federation when it suits but will act independently when it goes against her morals/gut Fusion being a great example. Also still think its weird how the Emmi were practically built to take her down.

I kind of see what Kiyo means??? But motherly is going too far. I always saw Samus as a benevolent hero who takes the role of Bounty Hero because it allows her a degree of independence. She's altruistic but keeps people at a distance to be the hero the Chozo wanted her to be.
