Man, bronze-age title pages are something else. (Courtesy of Buscema and Colan.)
A splash page where Surtur, the fire giant of Norse lore, looms over the sea, setting it ablaze (somehow). Before him are the giant flaming letters "Some say the world will end in fire..." The Black Knight, a thematically-armored here, rides atop his pegasus Aragorn, while Hawkeye, dressed in his classic purple out fit, stands on the back of the horse to aim his bow at Surtur (don't expect much from that, Hawkeye). A comic splash page where the ice giant Ymir looms over the panel, as solid ice block letters spell "... some say in ice!" The garishly colored android Vision looks up as if spinning around from a crouch, while the Black Panther crouches, looking upward as well. They look surprised, like they didn't see a 40 foot-tall giant coming. A double spread from a Dr. Strange comic, where the dream demon Nightmare looms immaterially over a film matinee with pink demons emerging from his cloud-like form. The matinee reads in large, angled letters as if it were across a cornerside theatre "If a world should die before I wake..." At the bottom, Dr. Strange, in his odd blue jumpsuit-and-red-cape look from the '70s, gestures upward defiantly at Nightmare as they exchange barbs. A splash page with an eye admist a blue swirl akin to a spinning globe, with a bright light to the left corner like a sun (but is actually Dr. Strange's amulet, the "Eye of Agamatto). Around the spinning, circular motion are large, red, motion-blurred letters that read "And Juggernaut makes three!"

There's been a lot of Internet analysis as to why the Kraven movie failed, but I'll let you in on the real reason: no nipple rays. #marvel #comics
A panel from Amazing Spider-Man where Kraven demonstrates (to himself, apparently) his new rays he can fire from his lion vest's "eyes" that "magnetize [...] muscular electrolytes", thereby eliminating Spider-Man's speed and strength. Another panel where Kraven uses his vest-beams on Spider-Man to drain his strength and speed, but "the effect is a brief one". A panel where Kraven fires his beams, but Spider-Man deliberately fools him into blasting the super-villain Vulture by leaping out of the way.

He flattens, and at the last minute, the vibration causes the truck to bounce off the ground, flying over him.

Apparently she also did one called "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Exposed" that I'm now morbidly curious about, since it apparently claims that Splinter is being pushed as a figure of worship. That's right, Splinter wants you to learn the blasphemy of... *ninjutsu*.

It ultimately comes down to Bible-thumping and intolerance, but it came comparatively late in '91. By its first reprint in '94, D&D would have already been on the wane.
