Teaching #EMS to notify a loved one of a patient’s death requires compassion, skills. Regions Hospital launched an online video highlighting their educational strategies on #deathnotification in the field. See QR below. #NAEMSP2025

A great example of identifying barriers to novel #EMS program implementation. Durham EMS ided logistics and training issues, two issues I’ve found problematic in other novel #prehospital programs. The magic in buprenorphine inductions when challenges were solved! #implementationscience #NAEMSP2025

So many orgs tossing #DEI ed. Why? Problem isn’t learners. 85% learners thought DEI ed vital. 78% support DEI ed. 60% applied learned techniques during training. 56% intended to use them in personal lives. IMO: Problem is with institutions who fail to recognize intolerance and prejudice. #NAEMSP2025

It’s refreshing to hear #education embrace #DEI training for student learners. Simulations! Skills training! Based on theoretical frameworks and existing literature. ❤️ #NAEMSP2025

So much discussion about the intersection of #DEI x #EMS. Sitting in this lecture on novel training education in the area - had me thinking about many posters I saw last night. #NAEMSP2025

Waiting for the riot to start. The only cola product at #NAEMSP2025 all day = Pepsi. No Diet Coke has been identified. I am under the impression all #EMSphysician survive off Diet Coke and energy drinks. @glaucomflecken.bsky.social, what’s the prognosis?

Experts suggest more #preeclampsia, #eclampsia, and #hypertension #meded for EMS. Those keywords are missing from many CAPCE course descriptions in this area. #NAEMSP2025

The US is behind on #obstetric and #newborn care for #pregnant patients. Many become #EMS patients, and 34% deliver before they reach hospital. Knowing this, what are your top priorities for EMS education? #NAEMSP2025

A moving target is a lot harder to hit, especially when you make the barriers to hit the target nearly impossible. #asylum #NAEMSP2025

Border wall height increases = increased traumatic injury for those seeking #asylum. Healthcare access is difficult. 83% loss-to-follow-up after ortho injury. Not enough docs/space/time/money to provide adequate healthcare. #NAEMSP2025

I knew it difficult to seek US #asylum, no idea how hard it is to request/get to appointment! Using CBP app means: have cell phone and internet, download app, fill it out in English/Spanish, use in specific MX areas, show up right time/place. #barriers to legal entry. @naemsp.bsky.social #NAEMSP2025

#EMS AND #firstresponder battles with #addiction can’t be ignored. Neither can open conversation about #SubstanceUseDisorder. Dr. Amanda Humphries presentation had me in tears. Talk to your coworkers about #mentalhealth. @naemsp.bsky.social
