I’m charging my car at Wetherby services, fighting the tears. My youngest is going to miss her so much

Well, that’s my daughter dropped at her flat. Still a shit tonne of her crap at mine that I will need to tootle up and down the M1 with but the house will be so much more quiet and dull with her gone. She’s quite the force to be reckoned with and I shall miss her annoying the fuck out of me 😭

Daughter’s last night living with us and I asked what she’d like to eat tonight. Because she is a girl of great taste we are having Manjaros parmos

Congratulations to @michaelhobbes.bsky.social for not mentioning bike lanes when @notalawyer.bsky.social was talking about infrastructure in relation to buses etc.
This month's bonus episode is about Zohran Derangement Syndrome, the dangerous malady infecting newsrooms across the globe.

Finally watching Money Heist, which has been my son’s hyper fixation for a couple of years and I wish I’d watched it sooner. We both have a thing for the same character #apple #tree

My eldest son lives in one of the former mining communities in Co Durham; where he lives, every single lamppost or pole has a crappy flag on it. Every single one. It looks tawdry and shit and god it’s embarrassing. Who ruined the pits and northern industries do we think? It sure wasn’t immigrants

Making that classic, ancient Italian dish tonight. Spag Bol 🇮🇹 just like Pliny the Elder would have eaten

I’m feeding my friend’s outstanding chonk of a cat for the week and I always look forward to it. He a beaut

I’m currently in the throes of buying a new bed and mattress, for when I move into my daughter’s bedroom when she moves out next week. I have been in the box room for years, in a crappy small double bed. It would appear that I need to sell a wizened kidney for a decent mattress

Made a kind of Lahmacun thing with lamb, but rather than on a flatbread I turned it into, I suppose, a sloppy joe (eeeewwww) affair by shoving it into one of these buns with tzatziki, chopped tomato and red onion. If you can find the buns they are very delicious with many things (got mine at Tesco)

Had a lovely day yesterday with my girl, which finished with me watching Frankenstein in Everyman, as she buggered off to join her mates to drink copiously

I’m drinking cava with my girl, watching old Barefoot Contessa eps, planning our adventure* tomorrow

What’s everyone having for tea? I’ve had 2 slices of corned beef. But round ones so it felt wrong

A perfect encapsulation <gnnnnngghhhh>
I’ve written about the return of The Witcher.

It has just been belly pork o’clock here and I am now deliciously sated

My youngest was homeschooled for 2.5 years. This mainly involved him teaching himself not just Spanish, but becoming obsessed with Spain, Catalan and Argentina. He can now understand the Catalan language and Argentinian Spanish and can tell you the differences. Neurodivergence is to be celebrated

When I sorted all my mum’s things out I boxed up all her books, to deal with at some later point. There are lots of Georgette Heyers, which I have never read, but which I will never part with because they were hers and her mum’s and were some of her favourite comfort reads in the world.

Going to Leeds on Saturday with my soon-to-be living permanently in Leeds daughter, to do cocktails and caressing of clothes in John Lewis. Well, not cocktails in JL unless they’ve opened a fancy pants bar. I’m hoping for the gochujang cocktail from my favourite place again.

Bought my daughter some leopard print hoop earrings as a reward for getting a distinction in her apprenticeship final exam. She is, in every way, her mother’s daughter

PSA: septum piercings are stinky when you have a wet winter nose. My sons had warned me about this and now I understand

Lamb pittas, tzatziki and chips for tea. Perfection. Sorry, little lambs

New car day tomorrow (same car, longer driving range and a year newer) and I am putting off cleaning my current car out as it will be a task and a half, thanks to two thick-haired females who shed willy-nilly
