My immediate thought was if this is reversible. I’m assuming it would be with abstaining from its use and taking on challenging projects to flex the brain muscles again

That said I’m in my late 30s. I’m not a student or a lid raised with the ubiquity of it. But I know many teachers who anecdotally report a decline in their students mental processing

I’m a ChatGPT user but I absolutely think there is merit to these findings. I found myself over relying on it, and so I’ve had to hold myself accountable to take a step back and use it purely as an advanced search engine and not get lazy.

Like any tool I think it’s all about moderation
