Nuthatches are known for their ability to climb on trees head down, so I thought it would be fun to depict that 😊 This species lives in the long-needled pine forests in North America.

I don't get to draw domestic birds often, but sketching chickens is so much fun! This prompt called for a thicker pen so I could take advantage of the natural contrasts in this breed's plumage.

Venezuelan Troupial #birdtober
This stunning oriole is the national bird of Venezuela, which makes its name particularly fitting.
This time I loosened up a little bit, and also used some half-dry copic marker I found among my art supplies. I like how it subtly smudged my hatching. #birdart 🪶 🐡 🎨
