Yeah 8 is not so bad, especially if the 8-year-old wants the warts gone & is able to understand the process. I’m talking about people bringing their three or four-year-olds in-very little kids who aren’t old enough to understand why they being held down by a parent and burned by a very mean person😫

Damnit-wish I’d thought of that! 😂

The downside of salicylic acid treatment is that can take a really long time and a lot of patience. Needs to be applied every single night then washed off in the morning. Can literally take months, but it’s completely pain-free.

As long as the child is old enough to understand that it’s almost certainly going to hurt, and is willing to accept the treatment, that’s ok (occasionally a five-year-old, tho rarely) but if they’re fighting & screaming, its impossible to spray accurately and is very unpleasant for everyone!

I’ve had kids literally screaming before they’ve even come into the room😭. I try my best to persuade parents it’s not the best course of action (for kids under about 8 or so) Occasionally I’ve actually refused to do it. It’s nearly always the parents who don’t like the warts, not the kids.

Yes it’s great stuff- we used to have a pharmacist make us up a really potent paste but he retired unfortunately and no one else will make it for us…so we have to go with the over-the-counter stuff. But it does work, though much patience is required from the parents of small children.

Happy to say I live in New Zealand where we grow loads of avocados and don’t need to import them.

Ooohhh good idea!
I’ll pop them out on my garden table and let the birds have a go😊

They are only $1.49 at the moment(0.49 Euro/43 pence)
So I don’t feel so bad. There are some foods I don’t mind cutting the bad bits out of, such as bananas, but as soon as the edges & around the stone of the avocado are brown then I just feel the whole thing is tainted & the texture is unpleasant.

I never have, but I think I’m going to give them a go because I’ve only heard good things about their avocados. But I might need to find someone to share them with, as I’m not sure if I could eat a dozen in a short space of time. I’m sure my avocado loving son would volunteer to share them with me😊

No, too soft for me. Straight in the bin with the whole thing.

The North, it was exactly as I expected, after reading the description in the brochure. Definitely not everyone’s cup of tea of course-two young men hiking through the wild of Scotland for just over two hours: conversations, renewing friendship, arguments, silences, wild weather & scenery. Loved it.

Yep I’ve referred this patient through to WorldwiseTravel, there’s one on the Terrace in Wellington. One of the main issues that you need a full two weeks for the vaccines to give you good coverage, so you’re already on holiday before you’re fully protected….(& rabies is 2 doses, a week apart!)
