Is anyone else struggling with sleep due to current events? I have had two semi-sleepless nights and I am exhausted. I felt so agitated before I went to bed and it didn’t improve. I hate being afraid of my own government. I hate hating the president. And yet, here we are.

While Trump is cutting off people from healthcare, childcare, and other services. Our governors should start thinking about cutting off our income taxes going to the federal government and keep it for ourselves. Let’s see what happens with the red states when we stop supporting them.

Just had a meeting with Judy and Dennis Shepard, Matthew Shepard’s parents. I am in awe of their strength and perseverance in the face of unspeakable tragedy. They emphasized the importance of change at ALL levels of government. It definitely helped to move me a bit out of the angry apathy I am in.

My child (they/them) lost their tortoise today to an unknown illness. He is so sad. I am too. He was a sassy little guy and recognized my voice from me going into their room to feed him. Here’s Taro (RIP).

It is sad to me that all of those awful folks on Twitter are trying to come over here. It’s because they just live to troll and hate, and every time they have their own platform, they leave it because there aren’t people there to antagonize. Thank goodness for the block lists. Shoo forever, MAGATs!

It was a process, but finally got following as many of those I was following on Twitter as I could (boy, that’s some bad grammar!) Anyway….still battling to not completely lose my empathy after the election but it is a struggle. Any suggestions for lowering my blood pressure due to election results?
