The felling of the old, ancient Dragons gave way to the 3rd Era. This Era was defined by the old Mortal empires that reigned and fell. The Empire of the Giants, The Fae Empire, The Sumassarian Empire, and more. All rose and fell during this time period of high magic.

Dragons dominated the mortal realm during the 1st Era. Metera was known as Pandemonium during this time as the two factions of Dragons, the Metallics and the Chromatics, fought an endless war for supremacy over the world.

The world is called Metera. It is a traditional fantasy world that somewhat mirrors our world. I'm working on incorporating a mix of cultures and civilizations from our world and placing them throughout Metera.

Necromancy is as evil as Enchanting a being to do your every bidding or using Evocation to burn down a whole town. It is the intent of the mage, not only the magic they practice.

A Paladin with a solid sense of justice and honor who invokes the name of many good aligned gods in all aspects of their life. But, they have a dark past or is connected to some kind of evil, and they use this mask of their oath to hide that fact.

When worldbuilding a creation myth, I like to think it’s pretty important for characters to not be 100% correct with facts. It is a myth, after all.
Events get lost to time, retellings are just a game of generational telephone, and some things can be made into an entirely different myth altogether.

I like the idea of a fantasy world undergoing an industrial revolution. There could be a pretty interesting conflict between the use of magic in society and the advancement of technology - especially for non-magic users.

I'm such a sucker for narratives where the protagonist is able to interact directly/indirectly with the antagonist, like through visions and such.
Physical confrontations are important, of course, but just them yapping at each other is so cool to me.
