My favourite food is Apple Pie. My go-to food-related app is Mealime. I recently scored 155 in ten-pin bowling.
Tim apologised for the double-slash in web addresses (I agree is wasn’t necessary but it’s never bothered me). Based on the article he might also have had to apologise for the annoying dash in “data-bases”! I’m glad that didn’t get adopted by the wider industry.

I’m sorry but yet another Microsoft-related rebranding is not “exciting”, it’s “eye-rolling” 🙄

(On opening the curtains) several seagulls, crows, starlings, pigeons and a couple of goldfinches (I think), all heading in different directions, like they all knew they needed to be somewhere, just didn’t know where “somewhere” was. I get that sometimes too 😁

For me, the march to push AI into literally everything and the immense power-hungry data centres that is bringing, plus the mega-rich private jetting every trip is pissing on any effort I could make to be eco-friendly. I’m not naturally a pessimist but on this issue it’s where I am.

Backups are only “too expensive” until you need them. Or, in other words, backups are NEVER too expensive if you have a business to run or files that are important to you.

My previous energy supplier kept badgering me to switch to smart meters but the only real benefit they could offer was it would save me a whole 2 minutes once a month to supply my own readings. I figured there would be a 1/10 chance I’d be on the phone for hours reporting faults instead. No thanks.

My gas meter is in a similar position. Fortunately I can get back up, though I probably do that grunting thing 😜. Why don’t I want a smart meter though? Even now reports are that around 10% of them don’t work properly. I expect things I rely on to work more than 90% of the time.

LOL. I had that once - years ago. No pain, just really red eye one morning. Bit freaky but cleared up after a few days, if I remember.

By even bringing up the concept of ID cards again, my trust in the state has sunk to new lows and I firmly believe we haven’t seen the worst yet.
