Coming forthwith. Well no, because that means "without delay", and I will probably drag my feet on filling this out. Coming in the not-so-distant-future (?).
Oh yeah, I mean, the part where he claims that he, himself, has been looking through legal documents is just too pathetic to even laugh at. As if he even reads.

But I want them to understand. So I am really glad that Aud Mason-Hyde spoke out, and let themself be so vulnerable, and I hope Lithgow hears it and understands. And I hope others do too.

Actors aren't the only ones who don't realize how much supporting JKR's IP, even if not her views, still hurts.

I truly believe that Lithgow doesn't see that because he's not close to anyone who experiences it, and it's academic to him. He doesn't REALIZE why it's hurtful.

I have to believe that. I can't think that he - or someone like Nick Frost whom I truly think is a lovely human - just doesn't care.
February 11, 2026 at 7:11 PM
...Not even political or ideological opinions. It's a difference of ACTION. JKR makes a shit-ton of money off of everything Potter. You don't have to work with her face-to-face; by creating something derivative from her ideas, YOU are actively making her that money.

Which she uses to hurt people.

I've seen Lithgow publicly state that he finds Rowling's comments and actions "incomprehensible", and I believe he means it, and I'm so happy to hear he was affirming and kind with Aud Mason-Hyde.

But Lithgow (& Nick Frost & many others) are missing that this isn't JUST a difference of opinions..

He's also claiming that in 10-20 years money will be meaningless and there will be more robots than humans. Neither of these is realistic, and the first one coming from him is absolutely laughable. I wonder how much ketamine he's doing lately.

Oh believe me I know, and I know no one is going to change now. I've been boycotting them for at least 8 years, and added first Whole Foods and then WaPo to my boycott list over time, but the number of ppl I've managed to convince to do the same - even with just ONE of these companies - is tiny.

Maybe they're going by the Rotten Tomatoes reviews and scores after the review bombing from AI bots. (Have you read those reviews? They're delightfully verbose, meaningless, and weird. And they contradict themselves in the same review.)

Haha, I'm kidding though, legacy media was told what to say.

I honestly don't think we are talking enough about how much of Amazon's OWN MONEY was spent to create and distribute this state propaganda. No, they didn't fully bankroll it, but they put more in than they will get back in exchange for Rich People Favors.

I naively thought in years past that ppl who make HUGE mistakes like this would realize & admit they screwed up, but eventually I realized that sunken-cost fallacy and general hubris mean they will rationalize instead. B/c image & moral high ground outweigh any actual care they have for their cause.

Possible down side: hiding in a large, empty room will make it that much easier for law enforcement to find you without a single person there to hide behind.

OMG you and me, same train of thought. LOL. I feel so alone on this platform sometimes XD I consider myself very progressive but I don't like how that's tied so strongly to a political figure I consider to be very self-serving and more interested in disrupting things than fixing them.

Ah yes, I forgot that Bernie actually supported him. I have to say that Sanders has a VERY bad record on some of his picks. I still remember when he backed an anti-abortion Dem candidate b/c he liked the dude's economic stance back in... '18 maybe? I haven't trusted his endorsements since then.

Way I figure it: Trump doesn't know Fetterman, who has never done anything for him. Trump knows Dr. Oz b/c he's on TV, so he put him in his cabinet. Fetterman ran and won against Oz. Fetterman has a D next to his name in Congress. Ergo, Trump won't get anything from listening to him, so he won't.
January 29, 2026 at 9:37 PM
To make it as short and clear as possible: I don't believe John Fetterman stands for anything except taking whatever label or public opinion will get him the most votes. That includes supporting Sanders/accepting Sanders's support, but sloughing it later when politically expedient.
January 29, 2026 at 9:35 PM
I may have misunderstood, but just in case, I'm not at all against socialism and wasn't suggesting that Fetterman was/is a bad guy b/c of being a Democratic socialist. I'm saying he, in his own words, is not and never has been a Democratic socialist. IDK how he even got that label. Just to be clear.
January 29, 2026 at 9:34 PM
Nah Fetterman was never really a progressive, he supported Bernie Sanders but a lot of it was to get clout with voters. I suspect he also just didn't like Clinton. He has a lot of questionable past stuff including pulling a gun on a Black jogger. Other stuff here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Fe...

Not enough space in my previous comment to make it clear that if he actually thinks Trump will give a rat's ass what he says, even with all the brown-nosing and Biden-bashing, then he thinks WAY too highly of himself. It's strategic, but it's a bad strategy that will not work and will NOT age well.
