So many newcomers today, new friends and old friends -welcome! It feels GOOD to be part of something GREAT right now. Here's a European Green Toad (Bufotes viridis), found near the snowline up in the Pindus Mts in NW Greece. This toad is found across c. Asia, e. Europe, and the Balkans. #herps
A toad resting on a gray rock fills most of the image. The toad's ground color is a whiteish beige, overlayed with many irregular spots of a pale green. On the back and the head the beige is replaced with a pale reddish orange. One eye looks toward the camera; the iris is an emerald green, and the black pupil is horizontally elliptical.
