Yeah I feel like putting your hands on that second stick may contextualize what the game wants more easily. I went in knowing how it works so mapping stick 2 to the face buttons wasn't an issue.

Still don't agree that it's better to actually PLAY than Karate Champ, but I'd listen to arguments about the more interesting part for sure. Def has some decent stuff goin on there.
