I was just thinking about you! It's been far too long! I hope all is well in your corner of the world, friend!

I don't know offhand if there are publications beyond his thesis, so this might not fit what you're looking for, but the actor Peter Weller (ROBOCOP, BUCKAROO BONZAI) has a Ph.D. in art history.

Thank you so very much! You've brightened my day immeasurably. Thank you for picking up my book in the first place. I'm happy you enjoyed it.

I didn't do it for the attention & frankly don't want it. I very naively thought it'd be a cute little thing that almost nobody saw or cared about. I shun the spotlight, but also hate seeing some of the more unkind speculation about GRRM this has spurred in some corners. He did warn me.

Meh, the world doesn't owe me anything. Also I'm not a journalist of any stripe, so I don't know the standard practices-- only that a few others did get in touch (not all). But thank you very much for the kind words about the Clakkers books. Much appreciated! Glad you enjoyed them. 🙏

I empathize, deeply! I'm usually gone 6:30a to ~6:45p and it drains me. But I rarely do it 5 days in a row, usually only 4. And sometimes I can WFH "thanks" to the legacy of covid.

I call those days "weekdays" and I hate them.

Aw, thanks! Btw I hope you didn't feel disappointed all those years ago with the tuckerization you very generously paid for in support of a ZNB kickstarter. I decided to make you a luthier even though you did not list it among your interests.

Such an amazing book!

This is also the point where I am obligated to second-hand namedrop that my mom knew Bob Dylan when he was Bob Zimmerman in high school.

The best cybertruck description I've read is that it looks like a can of energy drink became sentient, watched Starship Troopers, understood none of the subtext, and then set out to design a vehicle that a 7th-grade boy would want to draw on his notebooks alongside ninja throwing stars and shit.

I mean, it's not exactly a lost masterpiece or anything, lol. But I will say I poured myself into it (knowing full well it was sort of a futile effort).

While I'm at it, I'll add that it featured the most diverse cast of characters in any my novels, incl. one of my favorites I've ever written. I also personally felt it contained some of my best writing craft to date.

A fantastical secret history spanning millennia, adding a magical undercurrent to historical events within living memory w/o contradicting any facts. VERY deeply researched, to the extent I gave new information to historians. My most complex & ambitious work. Also my agent's most rejected novel.

I wrote a book that the world will never see, featuring a Babylonian Semiramis

The most I hope for is a few hours of moderately entertaining diversion

Well, gosh. You've made my week.

Thank you!

Aww, thanks! Hope you enjoy it.
