I've always enjoyed @jenlucpiquant.bsky.social's great work at AT & Gizmodo and I know I'll continue to do so! Still, I wish the venue drawing the most attention to our paper had contacted the 1st/corresponding author, as some others did. A 5-minute convo might've been helpful.

Given literally everything else happening in the world right now, I naively thought this kooky physics paper I wrote would be a cute little thing noticed by just a handful of people. In retrospect, I suppose the embargoed press release should have tipped me off.

I have thought for days about how to post about the fact that one of the authors who saved me from madness followed me, and I can't figure out a cool way to do it. @itregillis.bsky.social is amazing and his Alchemy Wars trilogy gave me light when I lived in darkness. I can never thank you enough.
