Conclusions:

The study highlights that although many EM clinicians are comfortable with EoLC discussions, significant challenges persist, particularly concerning training and infrastructure. Addressing these issues could enhance the standard of EoLC in Irish EDs.

While 80% of clinicians with over 10 years of experience felt comfortable discussing EoL issues with patients and families, only 32% of those with less than 5 years’ experience reported the same comfort level.
