I'm frustrated with how devops/SRE/whatever culture often shortcuts from "here's failure models that we may choose not to address as a cost/complexity tradeoff" to "some failure modes are just inevitable". Not habitually pushing away from the failure gradient means you drift more into failure.
Rasmussen's dynamic systems model. It shows a triangular relationship between economic failure, unacceptable workload, and performance failure, where systems need to be pushed away from each side with counter decisions/efforts.

Fantastic last-minute turnout for the Bay Area transit funding rally this morning with @transbaycoalition.bsky.social.

We need @governor.ca.gov to follow through on a promised 750 million for transit, or risk devastating service cuts and a spiral of traffic nightmares.

I’ve been cooling on film for sunrises/sunsets because the expose range is so limited, but this was a nice exception.

San Francisco from across the bay. The bay and city are very dusky, but the sky is a wash of purple shadowed-clouds with bright yellow, red, and pink highlights. Much of the sky behind is white.
