The NY Post is basically the Daily Bugle from the Spider-Man comics. (or more accurately, the Daily Bugle is a pastiche of the NY Post and NY Daily News).
It's a real rag. This is NOT surprising behavior for them.
Though this does have a lot of "Monkey's Paw" energy.
