While rewriting it for multiplayer support, I worked on some improvements behind the scenes. The old furniture system was too generalized and I had to dumb it down, which actually made it smarter.

My current plan is to have certain dish types (sandwich, soup, poke bowl, pizza, etc.) that you can specify up to 5 ingredients for. The ingredients determine shapes on the plate and what color palettes you can use for the components.

Godot supports running both the server and multiple clients within the same scene tree, which makes my favorite approach to multiplayer (singleplayer being playing on a local server, e.g. Minecraft, Avorion, etc.) so much easier!
