Fascinating video on Steam trends, especially these statistics- of all the games released in Steam in 2024, just 2.5% had the "LBGTQ+" tag and 7% had the "female protagonist" tag. This is supposedly the political trend that's overwhelming and destroying gaming.

So about ten years ago I found a small network of bots on Reddit dedicated to spreading hate. The thing about it is that these weren't even responding to political topics - they were just responding to random keywords with insults and hate.

this is kind of a niche issue but: if you are getting weird and hostile responses that feel a little off, there are some folks on here making accounts that automatically reply to large quantities of posts in a vaguely hostile manner. you can ignore them, and also, it's not personal

Penguin doing this makes me very happy. Hopefully more publishers will follow in their footsteps. There is already published AI poetry that must have been trained on so much poetry by different authors without their consent. Publishers at least protecting in some ways gives me more hope
Times are changing and my new novel published next month will be the first of my books to contain this text on the copyright page.
