Emotional support book yesterday:

The second southern gothic fairy tale collection in less than a week. I guess this is a genre now? Good spooky summer vibes that are perfect for these last few weeks of summer when it feels like the sun is trying to kill us all.

💙📚🖋️Emotional support book today

Very cool short story collection filled with dark fairy tales from the southern gothic view. Not something I ever expected to find. Definitely worth a look if you’re into weird fiction

Emotional support book a few days ago
Very readable overview and history of one of the weirder art movements. Also gives some insight into the art world in contemporary times. I’ll be recommending it

Recent ESBotD: a bit dark for me so I skimmed but I think it’s a good way to explore the cultural strife of the Indian subcontinent. Worth a look.

Recent ESBOtD: I wasn’t into it. The flittering around the metoo movement is kind of sad tbh. DNFed.

Recent EBotD - lesbian dragons novella from Neon Yang. Worth a look, but it’s a three star for me: solid genre stuff. Some fun action.

I realize I messed up on my previous book posts, attaching the wrong images to the wrong reviews… but the bluesky UI is not friendly to someone trying to post in between IRL tasks. Low character count and no editing…. So I’m not fixing it…

I got pretty sick the last few days so I never posted these two emotional support books from last Friday. I may say more later but I’m still not feeling great so I’ll just say both were skims and dnfs. I might revisit Devourers, but Starlight Heir didn’t feel special to me.

The honeysuckles are blooming so I’ll juxtapose their beauty with a book about the sparseness of the desert landscape surrounding the city I live in. 💙📚

Emotional support book on a snowy commute yesterday.

Book: Crush by Ada Calhoun
Progress: 20 pages and some skimming Current reaction: I haven’t read enough, but I wonder how romance readers would react to this book. The characters are entrenched in cultural products (art)… (1/2)

Emotional support book yesterday ended up being a spicy romantasy. Not my thing. Today also features hyacinths that have been blooming for about a week now. They stilll have a strong scent but some of them are starting to fade. Spring continues to unfurl.

Emotional support book from past couple days. Water Moon by Samantha Sotto Yambao. Seems cute but dealing with complex emotions. I should like it right? Two chapters in and struggling to pay attention. I might skim it later today.

Emotional support book from a couple days ago

Every Arc Bends Its Radian by Sergio De La Pava
Progress: first few chapters
Current reaction: unsure. There’s a private eye element which I don’t actually like much. It is overdone at this point. 💙📚🖋️
