I mean, gaming is soon going to be a hobby for the wealthy and upper middle class. Consoles don't drop in price anymore, PC builds are a luxury, and development costs in the West are skyrocketing. Unless something truly wild happens, I think many of us are about to be priced out.

In 2023, a variety of outlets begin to use generative artificial intelligence (a supposed cost-saving measure because, presumably, you don't have to pay robots) to supplement their offerings. Each time a publication uses Al to generate sloppy, often factually incorrect articles, it pains me how entirely obvious it is, and how the people at the top don't seem to know or care just how obvious. They seem to expect that readers won't be able to tell the differ-ence, which is both an underestimation and an insult to custom-ers. Especially when, in the successful marketing of journalism far and wide, it is essential for readers to believe that the publication they read is telling them the truth. Formerly respected brands like Sports Illustrated and BuzzFeed have become sullied in this man-ner. Quality, let alone truth, seems once again to be low priority on leadership's list of important product features. It has been horrifying to witness the devaluation of art by an executive class that cares very little for innovation or creativity or excellence. I always believed that artists and thinkers would find a way to make their voices heard regardless of who was in charge, just as I was once taught that the judicial and the legislative branches of government would serve as checks to executive power.
