A few days ago I happened to stumble across Dropset, which does literally everything I was going to do with my fitness app, but better! 😅

Being back on iOS has really opened my eyes to how good apps are over here 😄 the standard is so high and people really are doing incredible stuff.
‎Dropset: Gym tracker
‎Dropset is a clean and minimal tool for tracking your gym workouts, designed to be as non distracting as possible. You won’t find annoying upsells, or unnecessary options. There's simply what you need to set up your workout routine and your exercises and then track them at the gym. Also, it's super…

After several years of strongly and vocally disliking Figma, I am disappointed to report that I kind of understand why people like it.

Unfortunately, I think I also may like it.

More news at 6.

Don’t talk to me, my son, or my son’s son again.

It’s actually kind of wild just how much smaller the new Mac mini is than the 2018 model 😳

Ordered a coffee, walked to pick it up, realised the Starbucks was closed.

Turns out, the app had redirected me to a different store like 5km away without me noticing 😭

Last night I finished watching the Harry Potter series for the first time (yes I’m 21 and only just now getting to it, it’s a long story).

Here’s my review/miscellaneous throughts! Post (1/8)

First up: I loved it. I can see why it’s a classic, there kinda isn’t any bad ones.

Tonight I’m going to watch the final two Harry Potter movies for the first time. I’m hyped

I moved to AirPods 4 with ANC this weekend, and my one observation is that audio technology has come a 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 way since the AirPods 2 that I had.

These new ones deliver really clear audio, and honestly rival my Sony 1000XM4 headphones. The biggest improvement IMO is the 4s deliver a lot more bass.

(seemingly) unpopular opinion: buses should not be able to depart early. In fact, all public transport should be, at earliest, on time.

The number of times I have missed a bus that I’ve arrived in time for because it has departed like 5-8 minutes early is infuriating. #brisbane

Something I’m really enjoying about my iPhone is the camera button. The touch controls are gimmicky tbh, but the button itself is great.

Something I liked about Android is that double-clicking the lock button brought up the camera, but this came at the expense of an awful google payment auth flow.

First 24 hours on iOS:
- Is so pretty! 🤩Everything is very fluid
- It feels good to have a mail app that actually deletes my mail
- It’s very customisable now
- Holy camera bump Batman!

My phone stopped charging at 50% last night 🫠 looks like a new phone is in the list of things to buy soon too.

For the last four months or so I have been using smart glasses almost daily, and I thought I'd spend some time reviewing/talking about the two that I have used: the RayBan Metas and the Even Realities G1 😎

Spoiler alert: I really like the G1s. Time for a long-form thread! (1/15) 🧵👇

Okay, this is genuinely pretty awesome. Integrating with Apple Music & Photos is a killer feature for me, not gonna lie.

Plus it's hard to ignore how nice it looks 🤩

About a week ago I noticed some unusually bright stars, and it piqued my interest. Turns out, they were planets, and a lot of them are visible with the naked eye at the moment! Apparently there is a planetary alignment happening right now, set to coalesce on Feb 28!

Interesting (and somewhat annoying) observation about GitHub Copilot: it 𝙧𝙚𝙛𝙪𝙨𝙚𝙨 to provide code completions when working with anything around the topic of gender. Even getting it to complete the word “gender” is nigh impossible.

I can understand why, but it is pretty annoying 😕

I thought I was done, but the Great Work™ is not finished. I have grand plans for Threaditor (and maybe a new thing 👀) this year, and I'm feeling refreshed and ready to keep working.

I’ll be sharing more as I go, but I’m very excited! 😄🧵

If I had a penny for every Mac I've killed in January, I'd have two pennies. Which is not very much, and is definitely not enough to replace either of the Macs I've killed 🤦
