While I put off starting 'Before They Are Hanged', it's gonna be 'Wounds' by Nathan Ballingrud.

Most of these are good-to-great; evocative and disgusting with sharp prose. Skullpocket is my least favorite, but I can't deny its allure.

Finished my first Stephen King with The Shining and absolutely loved it, top-to-bottom.

I figure no better time to hard-swing to grimdark fantasy with The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie. Great prose, fantastic characters, and world-building hits the spot. Can't wait to see where this goes. 💙📚

I've been reading more in my 30s than ever before - better late than never, I figure.
Anyway, I'm very excited to have doven headfirst into my first Stephen King with The Shining, and being about a quarter of the way through, I can already tell this won't be my last of his. Salem's Lot up next?? 💙📚
