For sure. Not hating on tearing your own apart. For me I didn't have the keyboard already and it felt super wasteful to buy one new just to destroy it. Cheaper too in that case as well.

The battery life on mine isn't as great as a new keyboard, but it's still plenty fine.

It allows you to keep touch ID while using your own keyboard. I personally hate typing on an apple keyboard.

Now I have a mechanical keyboard I like and still have touch ID.

I bought the apple keyboard broken on eBay. So saved a bit of e-waste and saved money too.

Man, opening up that keyboard was super tough even with the ifixit opener. Well worth it to scavenge the fingerprint sensor though.

Nice. I recently switched to self hosted rustdesk from Parsec for my RDP needs. Been pretty happy with it.

It's been especially nice how easy it is to transfer files between machines.
