The first photo shows Tsomaia alongside Zviad Gamsakhurdia, Georgia’s first democratically elected president, and Zviad Kostava, another leader of the national liberation movement.
Back then, Tsomaia was an active supporter of their cause and later led The Party of Zviad the Liberator.

As someone whose first memory is of her father physically abusing her mother - and who lived with that reality until the age of 8 - today’s hearing was deeply triggering for me. Listening to Mzia speak about the horrific abuse she endured in detention. This is pure evil.
