Let’s all try to be excellent to each other here.
I wonder can we build more of these cycle lanes that are downhill in both directions. They sound very handy.

As a general rule any red tape that exists was put there to solve a problem. Cutting red tape should also require alternative plans for how the problem will be addressed.

And in this case, improving the efficiency of the judicial review process is probably a better solution than removing it.

I think it’s fair to say that for Gannon and Sherlock the last thing they want is a TD from their party standing alongside them at the next GE. McDonald might be a little more relaxed about it as SF could possibly get two there.

Hard to see the government retaining it and possibly more likely FF if they do. Unless Hutch wants to be one of their independent backers.

Greens have the advantage of a known candidate but it might still be a bit to early for a left vote to coalesce around them.

It’s actually remarkably diverse considering Cork and Dublin combines have more than half the state’s population.

Switzerland and San Marino must be longer but get excluded presumably for having multiple heads of state.

Finland has had a democratically elected president since 1919 but may be excluded on a technicality. In 1943 they didn’t have elections because of WWII and reused the 1937 electoral college.

You’d wonder did he ever have to use a US airport. That would tell him what a country with broken infrastructure is like.

Wasn’t Sherlock Holmes’s killer off and when Arthur Conan Doyle had a change of heart he used the simple trick of setting the stories before the events leading to his death.

The main thing is the publisher exemption for social media should go. If their AI is as good as they claim it shouldn’t be an issue.

The only reason I’m confident we won’t finish 5th is that we play Italy and Scotland at home.

Out failure to widen the talent pool and get game time for 2nd and 3rd choices is looking costly.

If you are a member of the Defence Forces, a Garda, a diplomat or have a physical illness.

If you just happen to have booked your holiday at the wrong time tough.

Two thoughts though

1. Similar size buses could revolutionise cross suburb travel
In the city.

2 Continuing to not properly serve Tracton with its large commuter population is a glaring omission. Bus service down there was better when I was a teenager.

Their behaviour is winning them votes. What Harris should do is draw attention to the policies of the Social Democrats in Sweden with whom they are aligned.

How is it not a breach of the Diest Amendment?

And how do I apparently know more about their constitution than their government?

Not sure if it’s a joke or not but in case it isn’t - Piraeus.

We didn’t get the traditional jazz weekend storm. Small mercies.

It’s possible in Cork if you live between Douglas and Blackpool, Bishopstown and Mayfield. Only practical in the outer suburbs with no kids.

The nightmare constituency is Labour held with less than 50% of the vote, the Lib Dem’s or Greens in second and the combined Reform and Tory vote around 20%
October 28, 2025 at 10:29 AM
What will be interesting is how tactical voting plays out. I suspect Reform will win no seats where they are in a two way fight, but in those where two of Labour, the Lib Dems and the Greens are vying to challenge, they could slip through.

Now that AI can check the posts, the excuse that it is impossible to resource properly checking is gone.
