Lol, yes!

First time I read Symposium it was Ancibiades and Aristophanes that grabbed me, but theres more each time.

Like Socrates passing on wisdom of a woman to a group from which all women were excluded.

At the time, the PM said it would split the nation if the people decided on whether Edward VIII should abdicate or not.

The advantage is that if you get an Edward VIII, its the people's fault, not that of the institution.

Such great writing. Alcibiades transforms the slightly comic trance of Socrates at the start into something divine (or rather, sees it as what it is?)
