The WH wants the Senate to confirm one of the least qualified nominees to lead one of the nation’s most vital U.S. Attorney’s Offices. Please urge your senators to ask these questions of Lindsey Halligan during the confirmation hearing.
The WH is moving forward with Lindsey Halligan's nomination as US Atty for EDVA. We released questions the Senate should ask before deciding to confirm one of the least qualified attorneys to serve as a prosecutor in that office, much less be its leader.

What happens if federal agents defy court orders? My former colleague Ron Safer explains: "We are on the precipice, looking into the abyss of chaos. ... the judiciary makes a decision, and then the executive branch [in this case, federal agents] ignores it. That's chaos."

The Supreme Court agreed, unanimously, that everyone deported under the Alien Enemies Act is entitled to due process.
We know our former DOJ colleague Erez Reuveni is credible and trustworthy. We're grateful for his courage in speaking out in defense of the rule of law.

“What I see happening at the Department of Justice today saddens me and angers me — selfless public servants fired for doing their job, the government using the vast powers of the criminal justice system to target citizens for exercising their constitutional rights.”
Great context provided by @nytimes.com for our latest video featuring Jack Smith & other DOJ alumni warning the American people about what the Administration's attacks on the Department mean for the rule of law.

I am SO proud of the work I did as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, and I am SO glad I retired from that office before 2025 and did not have to resign in protest from a department that is no longer interested in justice, upholding the rule of law, keeping our country safe, or protecting civil rights.
One of the first visible signs of President Donald Trump’s expected immigration-enforcement push went up overnight in downtown Chicago in the form of 10-foot high fencing surrounding the Dirksen U.S. Courthouse in the Loop.

A Minnesota state representative and her husband were shot and killed, and a state senator and his wife were shot and wounded in an "act of targeted political violence" at their homes early Saturday, Gov. Tim Walz said. A manhunt is now underway for the gunman who was impersonating a police officer.
Horrified by the targeted killing of Minnesota State Rep. and Speaker Emeritus Melissa Hortman and shooting of State Sen. John Hoffman.

My heart is with the victims, their loved ones and all Minnesotans.

Political violence has no place in America.
DEVELOPING: Minnesota lawmaker and husband were killed, another injured in what Gov. Walz called a “politically motivated assassination.” The suspect remains at large.
