It’s a traditional filling and you can find it not only in the Czech Republic but Slovakia (used to be the same county until 1993), Hungary, Poland, Romania, Moldova, Ukraine.

There is a similar recipe in Danube where they are smaller. If the quantities in there help, please use them when you next test them. I don’t mind (and I say this in the context of what’s trending in the food world atm)
