There is some context to that vote by the US. The US delegation stated the draft had "unbalanced and inaccurate positions" and that the concept of "food sovereignty" could justify protectionism, negatively impacting food security.

I'll help you with that. Democrats have stated they will not vote for a budget extension unless certain provisions are included, such as extending subsidies for Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplace plans. They don't want their constituents to lose healthcare benefits.

I agree. The point is that it takes a special kind of person who is supposed to be the leader of ALL Americans to deny benefits food benefits on a particularly American Holiday. It's the irony.
