Had a dance with my son at his wedding this weekend to “Las Mañanitas” by Vincente Fernandez. I sing this to him on his birthday every year. He said, “I don’t know how to dance to this.” I said, “follow me,” and we went full Carole Burnett on it (being silly) and had a blast!

At a wedding this weekend, I was in an N95 and had someone say, “Take off the mask, you’re outdoors,” as I was getting ready to enter the venue. This person has no clue as to why I was in an N95. No curiosity either. I’m guessing they just made an assumption followed up by an incorrect judgement.

My weight in the morning is NOT the same as my weight fully clothed at a doctor’s office. If you want to chart my real weight, accept what I tell you. I don’t need the added pressure of an incorrect, overinflated number being called out in the hallway or your best “guess-timate”

If I show up to your urgent care with a cut on my finger in an N95 mask, you can bet I’m not taking it off so you can get an oral temperature. Arguing w/me and then writing, “Patient is non-compliant and declines temperature reading,” is unhelpful. Bring back taking a temp reading on the forehead.

Ignorance happens. Sometimes stuff is confusing and you don’t know what’s true or not. But listen, if you side with the people attacking LIBRARIES, you’re an asshole. You’re not ignorant. You’re not confused. You’re an asshole.

Absolutely LOVE this. Rachel Maddow’s 82 yo mother protesting yesterday.

As a sharecropper in 1930’s Texas, my dad’s access to books as a child was a weekly mobile library in a wagon. He’d hire himself out at 10 years old to plow. Best part was he’d be free to think about what he’d read because the mule knew what to do. It was a luxury. He never stopped reading…

Good Vibes for 2025: Libraries are funded partly by how we use their services. Want to keep libraries viable & available in these times of cutbacks? Check out books on a regular basis. Visit their website - see the events & attend them. We’re fortunate to have libraries - let’s keep ‘em funded.

To the world:
We are fighting back. Our movement has been silenced by the media here—but we are not backing down. This is what our streets looked like across multiple cities. Tomorrow, there will be more of us! Raise a glass to freedom.

Knowing this would happen, my hubby and I bought two iPhone 16s in December, along with a new TV (ours was 10 years old). Used car purchased last week. No way to dodge the prices for groceries, clothes and household goods, however. Buckle up buttercup.

I used to always think that the phrase, “Nero fiddled while Rome burned,” was a metaphor. Never thought I’d have an opportunity to witness that in real time. Except, “He golfed while America burned,” is what I got.

Good Vibes for 2025: This year, through DonorsChoose, our family has supported teachers’ hopes & dreams for their students. Bilingual books, headphones, reading & writing curriculum and much more. We need HOPE these days & this is one way we’re fostering the Light.

I take pride in being a 'COVID alarmist' because my concerns are entirely grounded in scientific evidence. I discuss what I observe through the microscope.
The 'Covid alarmists' community consists of individuals who have chosen to stick with science.

Saw this and it really hit home:
“Sorry we have to raise children in these dystopian times.”
“Never feel sorry for raising dragon slayers in a time where are actual dragons.”
BE A DRAGON SLAYER.

Had a therapy session this week. Spent 15 mins stress talking about current US events. Didn’t realize my therapist had been purposely avoiding all news since Nov 5th. I freaked her the f*#k out. My bad.

Once, I was walking out of a local convenience store and the clerk said, “See you next time!” Weirdly, I responded quickly with: not if I see you first. *sigh* At 67 yo my inner teenager lives on to be a pain in the ass

She talks about meeting your body where it’s at now. I can totally relate.

Heard today: The people that turned in Anne Frank were FOLLOWING the law. The people that were hiding her were BREAKING the law. Just a reminder that laws are not always a moral compass.

I just helped a classroom on DonorsChoose. Support a classroom in need today. Our children are the future. In dystopian times, let’s raise dragon slayers in a time of dragons.
