5) The Inhabitants of Yasogami

This was the original draft for the who and where. It ended up changing in the actual fic - Talonflame isn't even on here, and the underleveled Pokémon are quite different. Margaret's Pokémon never even had a chance to show up! They're working hard in the background.

The above Pokémon became the inhabitants of Inner Inaba. I did have several extras leftover too, though. These went unused. Perhaps they're from even earlier generations?

4) The Zodiac

Before I even started writing this fic (after deciding to go all-in on the zodiac aspect), I first plotted out who the hell would have even be ON the zodiac.

The result was this. Time increases going down and right, i.e. Flapple was before Serperior, and Seviper is 12 Pokémon after.

If Snivy can stand normally, why would he tip over after hatching? Because he has a bigger head than body out-of-egg, and the body has to grow a bit to catch up.

Serperior's shedding is as big as the Pokémon himself, but this might be what it looks like when Adachi wears it.

Serperior body size compared to Adachi. The jaw can unhinge further.

I sketched some while trying to figure out various plot aspects. Here's the Yasogami Station inhabitants...

E) Serperior, of course. The whole point of this fic is for Serperior!
—> This snowballed and turned into a LOT of research on snake sex.

In order to do all of the above, Adachi needs to survive; for Adachi to survive, he needs to be amenable to change. Hence the timing of the start.

C) Eye color change from possession
—> This didn't really happen, but the contact lens-net-dragger almost got there.
D) Flowers blooming out of the skin (body horror)
—> We're not there yet. Next time!

A) Things living inside your body (like a parasite)
—> The sun energy core!
—> Also the contact lens/net dragger.
B) The promise of being stuck together forever (or at least a very, very long time)
—> The half-life energy!

3) How did this go from 10K to 170K+?
I have no idea. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ After deciding to revise the plot, I made a small checklist of things I wanted to write, and tried figuring out how to make the story incorporate those.

The checklist was as follows...

2) Who's the hero?

Every mainline Pokémon has a hero who steps up and stops the big bad team from achieving the world-ending plot they're cooking.

Adachi might be the protagonist of this fic, but Dojima is the hero. That's not to say Adachi & Serperior don't affect the plot, but Dojima's steering.
