Unashamedly woke. I often wonder these days if we are (or ever were) the good guys. You know, trying to make the world a better place.
Sadly, Albanese’s priorities have shifted from a focus on the welfare of at-risk Australians to currying favour with multinationals and corrupt regimes in the US and Middle East.

This so-called war (invasion?) is not only a catastrophe for the Palestinians, it is a damning indictment of Western hypocrisy. The sanitised reporting and the inaction and weasel words from many Western leaders has been an embarrassment that will haunt us all in years to come.

Right up there with compassionate conservatism.

Hell yes. They’re going to close it anyway and we’ve already given them a heap of money. Set the precedent - there should be no subsidies any more without pro rata equity. And if the operation is going to close without intervention then everyone’s a winner.

That he still has a role in Australian politics is testament to the fact that merit is no qualification for public life as a conservative politician.

Not any more, I suspect.

The fact that this bloke still has his job suggests he is doing exactly what he was tasked with.

I’m not sure it’s done her career any harm at all. The SMH has done front page pieces on her on two consecutive days. She now has a far higher profile than anyone else in the Coalition.

Our global media is complicit in amplifying far right personalities - just as they have for Trump and Farage.

No. There are still some positions at the ABC that remain unfilled by former NewsCorp employees. So, things could still get worse.

Disappointing (but unsurprising) coverage on the ABC news site. Estimates of crowd sizes of ‘thousands’ and then close cropped aerial images of the crowd so there is no way to see how many people are actually there.

This is heavily biased reporting.

How ironic that the US is now in dire need of a ‘well-armed militia’ to respond to the threat from Government thugs. I strongly suspect that Republicans may not remain quite so attached to gun rights as in the past.

The first truly insightful piece about Albanese’s trip.

Our media really is like a school fingerlings in the shallows, all following each other around and blissfully unaware of all that happens out where the current flows.

This could only have been penned by the man himself.

This was obviously too important a document to leave to an underling unversed in the complex diplomatic nuance required in affairs of state.

A masterclass!

Sadly, the only people who read (and are influenced by) this insipid BS are the PM, his ministers, and his ministerial advisors.

Nobody else takes the slightest bit of notice.

Talkback radio and influential lobby groups appear to now materially impact day-to-day decision-making at the highest level of federal and state bureaucracies in Australia. And, it would seem, government responses to domestic and international events.

Spineless, craven cowards the lot of them.
July 5, 2025 at 2:32 AM
Could it be that, by and large, they’re just awful people.
July 3, 2025 at 11:48 PM
Was that too subtle?

The American head of state with his useful idiot.

Perhaps #qanda is being axed because it failed to achieve its unstated purpose of making the Coalition look like a viable alternative government.

International law is now a meaningless construct. Israel and its sponsor and enabler the USA have rendered it inconsequential.
