Thinking about fic comment discourse (I know, sorry, bear with me) and observing in myself: I NEVER comment on a fic EXPECTING to get a reply from the writer, but if I’m REGULARLY commenting on a writer’s work and never get a reply back from them, it does make me less likely to comment over time. 🤔

Maintenance guy had to take the old one off with a fucking saw but we finally have a new and functioning faucet on our kitchen sink.

I was wildly un- or under-employed for several years and got an ad for a sort of vague XML editor job through the employment centre. I took a shot and got hired on the strength of my vast assortment of transferable skills from writing/communications and having taught myself HTML when I was twelve.

I feel very stupid for crying about stuff that objectively does not matter and will stop bothering me as soon as I get used to it but also I am experiencing far too many forks today and I just want it all to stop.

There are some updates to job’s guidelines for requesting image creation. I don’t mind at all Updating The Guidelines, that’s a regular part of my job, but I AM grumpy about the fact that the changes to image REQUESTS are going to necessitate me changing part of my process as a CREATOR of images.

The worst part is how completely fucking invisible it is to anyone who isn’t affected by it. I have this same problem with religious shit. STOP calling it the office Christmas party I swear to god, we are NOT a religious institution and there are employees here who are explicitly non-Christian!!

Being the first/only out nonbinary person in a corporate job is so fucking exhausting sometimes. Especially a job that also functions in your extremely gendered second language where none of the androgynous neologisms are considered acceptably formal language yet.

Some people are truly so weird about anyone shipping enemies to lovers. I’m so glad for you that you prefer ships that start out as rivals or friends or strangers but that doesn’t make you a better person actually.
