In 1997, Ellen DeGeneres came out on her show. People across the US were unable to watch it at home as local television stations refused to air the episode. In Birmingham, ABC 33/40 was 1 of these. A large watch party grew out of the backlash and these buttons were handed out to who attended.

1982 Bob Damron's Address Book. Damron guides were gay travel guides, named after traveling businessman, Bob Damron. Here you can see an explanation of the listings and some common hankie code meanings. Handkerchiefs were used to signal to other queer people what you were looking for.
