And even what I remembered I took Artistic liberties with.

Still, pretty GlaDOS-coded even if not fully canonical.

TLDR:

Happiness is not ever truly absent from any lived moment; Its felt presence is a matter of practice.

To practice cultivation of happiness, I suggest broadening the scope of what you can appreciate.
Start with things you are softly fond of. Focus on them.
