Father. Husband. Friend. Teacher. Thinker. Writer. Naturalist 🤝 Animist. Stardust. Tree hugger.
There's something more beautiful about a tree when spirits dwell within it, an intimacy through which we can more profoundly relate to the world.

I look at a willow and say:

This is where I want to be in death. Entangle me in your roots, absorb me, become me, free my soul to pass through you.

How unnatural are we?

To be born of the stars and claim the earth ours

Animals surrendered to hate and greed

The abyss grows in our hearts as we succumb to the art of intoxicating our only dream

So lost in the dark that we blamed God for the havoc of our wicked machines

How unnatural are we.

Ingratiate your demons of greed

Parasite of the sick

False hope of the dying

Yours was a sycophantic dream

In the end, the world rejoiced

When he laid you down to sleep

Ponderful.

It's a word now.

A funeral pyre
engulfed in flames. The dead sleep.
Ash settles with grace.

When man is not but
bone and ash and dust, moss will
bequeath God's image.

In the end

Behind the thoughts

Behind the actions

Behind the emotions and desires

Behind justice and responsibility

Beyond all constructs

It is only you

Protagonist and antagonist

Yin and yang

Eb and flow

No thing to know

The only way to embrace reality

Is to let it go

In wind whispers through cracks in windows

Birthing a silent prophecy to tantalize the mind

It's not too late to manifest a sacred destiny

We aren't damned to idly listen while the whales cry
