No writer is a failure until they are dead. Full stop. A career in writing is built over decades. It's built like a house, brick by brick, book by book. Not published yet? Emphasis on YET. Book not selling? It's not selling YET. You're only done when you quit.

And I don't think you're ready to quit

Something people may not realize: a lot of the paper used to print books in the US are from China. In fact, a lot of the books are PRINTED in China, esp the ones from big publishers.

Expect the price of paper books to really hike soon. If you want paper copies of your favorite books, get them now.

all of my writing is created using 100% certifiably organic intelligence. by which i mean i'm raising my freelance prices by 20%. if anyone complains, i'm including the word artisan in there and raising my prices by another 20%.

Apparently folks are dunking on a literary agent who expressed a desire for "a super smutty horror novel that addresses big societal questions in a unique and compelling way," and I'd just like to say that this sounds fantastic to me as well
