On day five of #16Days the Australian government has reformed the family law system to ensure that family and domestic violence can be taken into consideration in property settlements for separating families.

Yesterday @seacharity.bsky.social published new research about #EconomicAbuse as it is experienced by women in the UK, recognising that this behaviour is causing victim-survivors to remain trapped with an abuser.

Everyone should be able to gain economic safety. Black and minoritised women are more than twice as likely to experience economic abuse than White women. There is an urgent need for investment in specialist by and for support services and action to address racial inequalities.
