This letter, on the other hand, is great.

And as it has emotion, whimsy, and describes human observation, I suspect this was not generated by Ai.

Well written Grace.

On this Indigenous Veterans Day, I am thinking of my great Uncle Edwin who volunteered in the First World War.

I never met him, but was told of his experiences when he returned to Canada, which were not good. This photo was always proudly displayed at my Grandpa's.

Funny how you can live in places for years and never really look at them.
It's interesting how in small Prairie towns half the businesses are named after the town, as if people need to be reminded where they are.

It's been a retrospective year, for a variety of reasons.

Looking at old diaries, 8 year old me was into potato printing. Is that still a thing?

By the end of this diary it's all raging hormones, frightening adventures, and actual horrible tragedy.
We grew up fast in the 70s & 80s.

Over 5,000 cases of Measles in Canada this year. 😖

“the most dangerous epidemic these days is ignorance & the online dissemination of nonsense to an expanding population of self-styled experts who “do their own research” has eliminated any possibility of achieving herd immunity against idiocy.”

I'm likely late to the party (honestly not the first time) but I've just discovered the Stingray Holidayscapes channel? App? On our tv and I am addicted.

Halloween in the 80s was... distinct.

Also, for the kids out there, a day will come when you will legitimately not remember what the hell you did in your 20s.

Friday night we took in the Halloween #CandlelightConcert in Winnipeg @candlelightconcert.bsky.social.
We were in the rafters, but still loved it. Definitely doing this again next year.
Here's a clip of the Time Warp.... I had to stop myself from singing. 😏

As paintings of Christ go, I quite like this "stare you in the face and not going to put up with nonsense" look.

Ok. Diwali Barbie is pretty cool.

No kidding. He started turning a bit back on Twitter I found, then seeing him on TV the last election he came across as just angry to me. It's too bad, but I would not want him influencing my kid in Uni.

Meanwhile, this is a pretty good, more accurate representation of the candidate in question.

Not much moon tonight but quite a few stars.

Ugh.

No Hearst Magazines, the Icelanders landed on the shores of Lake Winnipeg near what is now called Gimli, in 1875.

This statue was not unveiled until 1967 (not created in 1875).

It would be funny if the entire world wasn't already full of fucking incompetence.

Just a normal drive home on the Manitoba prairie.

I'm going to use the issue of constant lies from the Trump regime to say..

there is an E-petition to address the issue of perceived and actual misinformation being presented by 🇨🇦 MPs to the public, now available for signing on the Canadian House of Commons website.

Lies threaten democracy.

Reading about Vikings and this has already jumped out at me.

It's a reminder of the idiocy of the cosplayers in the trump regime talking about "Valhalla". 🙄 Fucking racist fools.

I did not expect to see this beauty tonight.

There was a time I would race thru books, reading until 3:00 am when I could no longer see the page.
These days I slowly savour them.

This one by Hannah Kent, about the last woman to be publicly beheaded in Iceland, left me in tears. When you can feel what a character is experiencing...

Looking rather picturesque.
