Running Brussel

Runs a bit! Makes teeth for money, makes models for stress relief and eats cake for fuel. Owned by cats.
I used to have a lovely Muslim barber, he would always laugh about our inability to cope with weather and suggested that “terrorists” were idiots and should just dump snow on us, it would have more impact!

I disagree! It’s home made, with care and effort. That’s a win above any cook book, magazine picture or website I’d eat it, me and Mrs Inmyshed love a homemade foodstuff no matter what it ends up looking like.

I quite liked Hastings reasoning. Best so far.

I would imagine a fair few falling to the weather gods, it’s not just the safety of the runners but also the volunteers. Sad but right decision. it looks like SE England will escape the worst of it so more chances of finding an event near me still going ahead.

I’ve done the first timers briefing a few times, completely out of my comfort zone public speaking but I haven’t lost anyone (yet) I like the jeopardy of tokens especially in cold wet weather, never done timing, I’m allergic to technology. My first volunteer role was a simple point and cheer.

First. Harrow Lodge
Last. Harrow Lodge
Home. Harrow Lodge
Favourite. Barking (nice flat tarmac with no mud)
Bucket List. Anywhere beginning with J or Z!

I did the Yeovil Montecute parkrun (sadly no longer an event) and I remembered the event briefing mentioning a warning about sheep on the course! Not something we get at my local in East London!

That’s very true, my local (Harrow Lodge) gets very tough until the end of monsoon season. We have a few chunks of tarmac to keep first timers guessing & that just adds to the jeopardy. Some say it’s unusual to have a single lap inside the M25 let alone a swamp!

I love pacer week, we do it on the last weekend every other month. I usually volunteer for 25, it’s great to encourage others.
